For more than three generations, the family-owned and operated Mountain
Valley Express has provided reliable less that truckload (LTL) overnight
and second day freight services to customers in CA, NV, and AZ. Equipped
with over 600 vehicles and 360 employees, MVE has recently expanded
their services into the Dedicated Freight service market. Most notably,
MVE has gone the extra mile by taking a proactive step in reducing their
carbon footprint while complying with environmental state regulations.
Last year MVE implemented a number of additional energy-saving measures.
As an Elite Carrier with the Federal EPA SmartWay program, which measures
emission output of diesel engines of a fleet, MVE has implemented low
rolling resistance tires to reduce friction and a zero-tolerance policy
on engine idling. They have also installed diesel particulate filters
on all vehicles to control output of diesel engines, and aerodynamic
wind deflectors to reduce drag. Expanding their efforts further, they
use six hybrid sales vehicles and retrofitted three facilities with
energy efficient lighting, reducing their electricity use by 10 percent.
As MVE becomes more environmentally conscious, they are reducing customers'
carbon footprints as well as reducing overall costs, which pass on to
the customer. Going green isn't just good for nature, it is smart business
practice.
Think Green. Save Money. Save the Planet.
