President's Message

Hello Again, I hope you are all doing well and able to find your balance between work and family. I wanted to tell you about my wife, Deena and I, and our celebrating 25 years of marriage together, that's right, our Silver Wedding Anniversary. We have been partners and friends together, facing many of life's challenges together. We are proud to say that we have raised two very responsible and forthright children in Derek and Desiree', of whom are both now out of the house and in college or working over the Summer break. We have faced life and death together, with the birth of our children and the death of some of our very close family members. We have faced the challenges of understanding one another's wants and needs and our individual personal challenges. As I write to you, we have been reading some quotes on love and marriage and I thought I would share some of them with you.

Love is life. If you miss love, you miss life.
Love is always bestowed as a gift---freely, willingly and without expectation.
The most precious possession that ever comes to a man in this world is a woman’s heart.
The best proof of love is Trust.

I can tell you that marriage is a commitment to one another for life and beyond, if you trust and understand one another’s needs, your marriage will endure. As many things in life that are worth working for, marriage also takes a lot of work and is very worth working for. The latest challenge that we have conquered together, was that of our Family’s Trust, I was named the Trustee by my parents and we just settled their estate at the first of June. My wife was there every step of the way, offering her commitment and support to me, over what was a very challenging assignment and I say to her that I love you for that and so much more. Our ongoing work together is Mountain Valley Express and all of our fine employees working here. We talk about and have concern for all of you and how blessed we are to have you all here with us. We too are looking forward to many good days to come with family, friends, our company and our jobs. Together as partners and co-workers we will accomplish many great feats and challenges, as in marriage and in life, we will endure as we understand one another’s needs and concerns.

Environmental Front--- MVE was just featured on the front cover of the Manteca Bulletin, talking about all of our Green practices in which we protect the environment, this article is posted at all terminals for you viewing pleasure and in this newsletter. At the CTA level of Enviro concern, we are awaiting a decision on delayed enforcement on the Diesel emission regulations. I will tell you what that decision is to be from the Governor and CARB once they make a decision. We have asked for a 1 year delay of the rule and a 1 year stay of enforcement of the rule. This is to give all carriers two more years to comply and get over the financial hump that this recession has placed on all of us. MVE will also be featured in a full page article on our company and Green Practices in the next edition of San Joaquin magazine. We will circulate copies to all terminals, also for you viewing pleasure. Enjoy.

Until Next Time, Just ASK and Go Green with MVE!
