Many changes within our California LTL Trucking company landscape so far this year. Dependable Highway Express has completed their purchase of Matheson Fast Freight. Matheson has been a long time competitor of MVE and was well respected in the industry. This is a big opportunity for us to anchor a number of these accounts that have been very difficult to move over from Matheson. DATS Trucking , as of March 1st will be pulling their operations out of California and handing their freight off to Best Overnight Express. This is also a big opportunity for MVE, as DATS was a minor competitor of ours and we will see some of this business move over to MVE. With these latest carrier adjustments and reductions in their operations, brings a larger customer base for those of us that remain here in California.

MVE is now the single largest, privately held California based LTL carrier in the State, we are poised for some tremendous growth and we will be aggressively pursuing this business. How does MVE survive where others have failed? We have been here for 34 years, providing on time, damage free and customer friendly overnight freight service. We communicate with our customers and our employees on a daily basis as well as in our newsletter, with the latest news of our company. We have also created some very strategic partnership relationships with other carriers out of state and we will continue to enhance those relationships into the future. We are very involved in our community, and our Trucking Association and therefore are in the know as to what is happening in our State and how to adjust for it . We will continue forward as California's Premier Overnight LTL Freight Carrier and always be thinking out of the box for future opportunities that lay ahead of us. So for now, be sure you ASK for that former Matheson shipment or that former DATS shipment and it will soon be on our Green truck moving to it's destination.

The National Health Care debate is raging in Washington and the Obama Administration is dead set on achieving his goal of National Health Care. Stay tuned for that one as the Republicans are dead set against National Health Care. We are currently negotiating with our Health Care providers for our health care insurance renewal policy coming up on May 1st. Some of you have asked what we are going to do this year with this most important coverage. Once we have all the numbers in, we will be having a series of employee meetings in April announcing this information. As is the case every year, we always strive to provide the most affordable and reliable health insurance coverage possible. Stay tuned for more info to come in April.

Environmental Front - There is a Senate Bill being introduced by Senator Cox in an attempt to delay the Clean Air regulations that CARB is imposing upon our diesel engines. What this bill does is extend the time schedule in which to comply with this rule by a number of years into the future, as far out as 2025. CARB has stated that it will take an act of Congress to move the 2014 ultimate compliance date ahead. We have been asked to testify on behalf of this latest legislation, and we will keep you posted on it's outcome.
